Focus on the root causes and not the symptoms

Symptoms should be viewed as red warning lights flashing at you to give your body some attention.   The Physical, Mental, Emotional and Social levels of health are all entwined and need to be worked on together to get results.  Looking for interactions between environmental, genetic and lifestyle factors is also important as these interactions can have a huge influence on your wellbeing.  Completing a Functional Health Assessment give me information about the current state of your health – which is an accumulation of actions, events and enviornmental influences that take place over the course of your life.   It’s important to discover and understand clues that tell us what your triggers are – identifying what’s causing stress or dis-ease in your body.

Traditional Naturopathy is about self care for the mind and the body.  Improving our health is choosing to give the body everything it needs to be healthy while at the same time minimizing what interferes or detracts from health.  Good nutrition, sleep, exercise, reducing stress and having fun are all important components.   Good health doesn’t happen by chance.  It’s a choice that you can make, giving the body everything it needs to be as healthy as it can be.
