Functional health support for persistent symptoms

Still not feeling well—even with all the data in front of you?

You may already have lab results, diagnoses, reports or plenty of online advice—but still not understand why you feel unwell or what to do next. As a functional health practitioner, I connect your symptoms, history and existing information, identify meaningful gaps, use targeted testing when useful, and turn the full picture into clear, manageable next steps.

Support for fatigue, digestive symptoms, anxiety, sleep disruption, weight changes and the sense that something still isn’t right.

When more information isn’t enough

Lasting change can begin with being listened to closely enough for a different understanding to emerge.

1

You may have symptoms, existing labs, podcasts, protocols or online recommendations, yet still feel unsure which findings matter—or whether something important is missing.

2

Reports and recommendations can suggest possibilities, but they cannot know your whole story or reliably show what is missing. When a specific question remains, targeted functional testing can help complete the picture.

3

More testing is not always better. We test when the results can clarify a priority, guide a decision or meaningfully change the plan.

Jill’s approach

The data informs the work. The relationship makes it personal.

This is not a process of applying a standard solution. It is a thoughtful relationship in which we notice what matters, make sense of what is happening and discover what becomes possible. Information and testing can guide us, but they never replace your experience or the judgment we develop together.

01

Slow down and understand

We begin with conversation: what you are experiencing, what matters to you and what your current capacity allows.

02

Find the meaningful pattern

Review existing laboratory findings and anything else you bring alongside your history and lived experience. When the picture is incomplete, identify whether targeted functional testing can answer the missing question.

03

Choose the clearest next step

You stay part of every decision as we choose and sequence support so the plan feels manageable, purposeful and personal.

04

Review, remain curious and refine

Stay connected as you try the plan, learn from your response and adjust the path together—without blame or overreaction.

Support for the whole person

You do not have to interpret the information—or move forward—alone.

You are more than your symptoms. Our work considers the whole of you—your unique biology and genetic predispositions, health history, lived experiences, relationships, nervous system, environment and daily life—and how these influences interact to shape your health today. When more data would genuinely help, I can recommend and run targeted functional testing—always interpreted within that wider context.

Functional testing guidance from Jill Philo

Functional testing, when useful

When more data is needed, we test with a clear purpose.

You do not have to arrive with every answer—or every test already completed. We begin with your story, symptoms, existing results and anything else you have already collected. If important gaps remain, I can recommend and run functional testing chosen to answer a specific question. We then interpret the results in the context of your history, priorities and capacity so the testing creates direction rather than simply more data.

Ways to work together

Choose the support that fits your next step.

Whether you begin with a focused assessment or ongoing partnership, the work is personal. We talk through the information already available and, if targeted testing would help, decide what question it needs to answer before shaping your path forward.

Meet Jill

Real care is a relationship—not another report.

For more than 25 years, I have helped clients uncover why they do not feel well—translating complex health information into clear, compassionate direction.

My role is more than interpreting information. I listen without rushing, hold space for what you are experiencing, educate without overwhelming, mentor and guide you through the next steps, and advocate for what makes sense for you. You will not be treated as a query to solve—or handed a report and left to navigate it alone.

When important gaps remain, I can recommend, run and interpret functional testing. Then we bring your story, existing information and anything else you have gathered together and turn the full picture into a path that works in your real life.

  • 25+ years in practice
  • Functional health practitioner and clinical advisor
  • Advanced functional testing and nervous system regulation
  • Thousands of labs reviewed

Questions are welcome

A few things you may be wondering.

If your question is not here, we can talk it through together before you decide.

How is working with you different from using AI?

Some clients arrive with AI-generated reports or suggestions. I do not use AI as a substitute for practitioner judgment or relationship. I review anything you bring as one source of context. If genuine gaps remain, functional testing can add useful data. My role is to listen, help you decide what matters and stay alongside you as the path develops.

Do I need recent lab results?

No. We begin with your story, symptoms and whatever information you already have. If more data is needed, I can recommend and run targeted functional testing rather than expecting you to arrive with every result in hand.

What happens in the first conversation?

We get to know one another, talk through your main concerns and explore whether my approach feels like the right fit. There is no pressure to decide during the call.

What if we need more data?

Existing information may be enough to begin. If an important question remains, I can help select, arrange, run and interpret functional testing. We discuss what the test is intended to answer, why it is useful and how the result could change the plan before moving ahead.

Is this only about physical symptoms?

No. Your nervous system, stress load, sleep, relationships and daily environment can all influence how your body responds. We consider the whole context.

How do I know where to begin?

You do not have to figure that out before reaching out. The first step is a short conversation so we can identify the most appropriate way forward.

The right information becomes useful when it becomes personal

You do not need endless information. You need the right information, a clear path and thoughtful support to move along it.

Bring your questions, your health history, existing labs and any reports or research already in front of you. If something important is still missing, we can add purposeful functional testing—then turn the full picture into a path that feels clear, personal and possible.
