Get Your Questions Answered
How will you be able to fix me when I’ve not had any success working with other practitioners?
Great question and one that you should be asking. First, let me stress that I don’t fix you – you do the work here.
There is a huge difference between what medical doctors do and what I do. I am not a medical doctor. Medical doctors focus on your symptoms. They specialize, which means their focus is on their specialty and not your whole body. My focus is on helping you find healing opportunities by identifying anything that may be interfering with your health and focusing on everything you can do to power your body up. The work we do together involves the whole body because everything is connected. I’ll help you find those healing opportunities and then support you through making changes so that you do finally get results.
Do you work with anyone?
Not everyone is ready for this work. If you’re looking for a quick fix then I’m not the person for you. If you’re ready to put the work in and want to experience your body responding in a positive way then you’re in the right place. For example, if you’re struggling with bloating and you want a ‘pill’ to fix it but you don’t want to make any changes to what you are currently doing – then you won’t get any lasting results. You would be wasting my time and both your time and money.
How long before I’ll see results?
Everyone is different so I can’t give you an exact answer on this one. You didn’t get this way overnight and you’re certainly not going to feel different overnight. However, the more fired up you are about feeling better and the more you are prepared to do the work the faster you’ll feel the difference. With most of my clients we work in three distinct phases. The first phase is focused on discovering everything that is interferring with your health; the second phase is focused on giving your body everything it needs to be healthy; the third phase is focused on the gut/brain connection and making sure it’s aligned.
Can I work with you rather than going to see my doctor?
If you experience sudden changes in your health you should always go and see your medical doctor first. Get it checked out and let them run the advanced testing that they have access to. If you’ve been to see your doctor and they can’t find anything wrong or you’ve been on medications for some time and it’s not helping – then it’s time to dig deeper. You need to figure out what’s interfering with your ability to return to health. For example, bloating is not going to disappear following a course of medication if the reasons why you started bloating in the first place are not addressed. Following your course of medication you might feel great for a few days but then you start bloating again. Doing the same thing over and over isn’t going to get you results. I think good health takes a team and I like to think I’m part of that team, communicating and working together in your best interest and supporting you in your quest for better health.
I’ve already spent a fortune on my health, how much is this going to cost?
It depends on what you’ve done so far and on what’s worked and not worked. Functional testing can be expensive and the work we do together is not covered by insurance. I work with each of my clients to make sure that we keep the costs down. You’ll know each step of the way what your choices are. Working on your health should be a priority so I always work hard to find a way to make that work for you.
Are you going to load me up with supplements?
That’s not the way I work. I hate seeing how many medications my clients can be on – and often have been for years. It’s the same with supplements. Even though supplements are considered to be more natural they are still chemicals. They shift the body in different directions. So overdoing supplements can end up causing issues. The quality of supplements can be a problem and many can just be a waste of money. So no I don’t load my client up on supplements. I may recommend targeted supplements that may be beneficial to you, depending on the phase we are working on.
I’ve been told I have to give up wheat and I just can’t do it. How will working with you change that?
Frankly, habits are hard to change. Knowing what you know doesn’t mean you can change what you are doing. I am fully trained to work with you so that you can make lasting changes. Using a number of different tools and strategies I’ll support you through the changes that you need to make so that you are successful. It’s often our own thoughts that hold us back – “I can’t do this”….. “It’s too difficult”…..”I’m not worth it”. I’ll teach you how to reframe so that you can. My work with you is to identify healing opportunities and then help you realize them.
